Executive Director of AMLC

Responsible for achieving annually an agreed money-raising target through a wide range of actively marketed and promoted activities, campaigns and events.

The role involves working with the general public, NGO’s, corporate and business organizations, as well as with charitable trusts, to raise awareness of the charity's work, aims and goals and to increase constantly the amount and ways those individuals and groups can contribute.

Tasks typically involve:

  • Developing new and creative fundraising activities, some of which are events-based.
  • Working with all forms of the media to promote, market and advertise forthcoming events.
  • Increasing funds through researching and targeting charitable trusts sympathetic to the charity.
  • Overseeing corporate fundraising, including employee giving and matched giving from employers.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with donors and potential donors - this may include the writing and circulation of regular newsletters.
  • Raising awareness, at both local and national levels, of the charity and its work - this may involve giving speeches to groups, radio interviews and writing press releases.
  • Organizing the use of direct mailing to a wide range of potential and current donors.
  • Recruiting, organizing and working with volunteers and supporting them in their endeavors - in large regional charities you may be responsible for several hundred volunteers working in your area.
  • Preparing reports for both donors and trustees of the charity.
  • Monitoring income and expenditure against the budget allocated and the target that has been determined.

Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent, 5 years prior experience in relevant field preferable.
Proficiency in writing/communication skills in English language.
