The foundation for every program, decision, and action we take
At AMLC, values are not slogans — they are the foundation for every program, decision, and action we take. They reflect our Islamic faith, our responsibility to the community, and our vision for the future.
Guiding Values
Humanity
We honor the dignity of every person. Our work is rooted in compassion, inclusion, and service to all people, regardless of race, faith, or background.
Freedom
We defend the freedom of thought, belief, and expression as the cornerstone of human development. Every individual has the right to live with faith and conviction.
Justice
We believe justice is the root of peace and security. It is our duty to challenge wrongdoing and stand for fairness in society.
Responsibility
Leadership requires accountability. We believe every member, from the community to the board, must act with integrity and answerability.
Service
Service to God and service to people go hand in hand. We believe true leadership is grounded in service to others.
Transparency
Trust is built through honesty and openness. We commit to accountability in our decisions, programs, and leadership.
Governing Principles
Our values come to life through clear principles that guide how AMLC operates:
Knowledge before Action
Every initiative is built on sound understanding and sincere intention.
Unity with Respect for Diversity
We work together while honoring different perspectives.
Constructive Engagement
We avoid disputes unless truth and justice demand otherwise.
Accountability in Leadership
Those entrusted with responsibility must fulfill their promises and serve the community above all.
Our Ethos
We believe in a future where American Muslims are strong, united, and impactful. Our ethos is simple:
Impact-driven
Every program must create real results.
Faith-centered
Our work begins with the Qur'an and Prophetic example.
People-focused
Change happens when individuals are empowered.
Future-oriented
We prepare our community not only for today, but for generations to come.
The Spirit of AMLC
Our values are not just ideals — they are lived every day in our programs, our Hangout space, our Online Portal, and our service to the community.
AMLC is a home where faith shapes action, and action transforms society.
